John Hachmeister captioned this April 1919 photograph, “He Ho to Panther Camp.”  The Weeks brothers dubbed the hunting camp deep in the Big Cypress Swamp “Panther Camp” after a close encounter with three Florida panthers during an alligator hunt.  Pictured from left to right are Bob West, Mrs. Jim Hamill, Jim Hamill, and John Hachmeister.
