It Takes a Community to Preserve One!

Our mission is vast, covering no less than five (5) preservation initiatives and ten (10) educational programs.  The cumulative impacts we make in the community are a result of generous philanthropic support.  That must continue so that our programs, all of our works, continue to benefit residents and visitors alike.

Mary S. Smith, the Society’s Past Chair and the namesake for the Society’s endowment fund, the Mary S. Smith Chairman’s Council, graciously endowed the Society with several lead gifts to demonstrate her visionary fiscal leadership.  Join her and other like-minded philanthropists to make a difference…It’s a small but compelling club!

Consider a current gift, a pledge, or planned gift through a Charitable Gift Annuity or a Charitable Remainder Trust. Do you have a preference for another estate planning tool?  This is where Planned Giving becomes so important. Planned Giving is just as crucial to the future of the Society as current gifts.

Remember, not a dime of government support or public funding flows to this organization; membership, donations and tour revenue fund our programs.  We spend approximately 92 cents of every dollar on programming.  This reflects a fiscally savvy organization.

However you may choose to give to the Society, we offer handsome name recognition for current or planned/pledged gifts.  Check out our naming board!  Please speak with your financial adviser.  S/he is invited to call Call Elaine Reed to learn about the Foundation and the Mary S. Smith Chairman’s’ Council.

Thank you for your support, and for your consideration of getting involved in a greater way.
