Description
Each winter, John Hachmeister, the wealthy manager of nice racing associations, and his group of friends returned to Naples, with many group events held at “Bamboo Cottage,” on Pier Street (Twelfth Avenue South). By 1915, the Naples Hotel, still the social center of the small resort town, had added a rough nine-hole golf course, located to the north of the hotel, between what are now Third Street South, Fifth Avenue south, and Eighth Street South.
