Speaker’s Bureau: Talk of the Town!

Naples Historical Society's speaker's bureau provides lectures to all interested parties. Our Speaker’s Bureau provides 20-60 minute presentations about Naples history or historic preservation.

Option #1:  The Telling of Naples History, $150
Presented by a Society Docent

The Telling of Naples History is a wonderfully engaging presentation that guides the guest through the excitement of Naples past and its early growth.  Told by a qualified Society Docent, this program includes information on Walter Haldeman (the Founding Father of Naples), the old Naples Hotel, Historic Palm Cottage™, and many very important persons who invested in Naples along the way.  Each presentation ends with Q&A.  Enjoy the show!

Option #2:  Historic Preservation in Naples, It's That Easy! NO CHARGE
Presented by Elaine L. Reed, President & CEO

This presentation will showcase the Society’s boldest project, the Naples Historic District Initiative.  Ms. Reed will quickly review past efforts and bridge the information gap on preservation attempts from 1990 to present day. She describes HOW TO PRESERVE AN HISTORIC CONTRIBUTING STRUCTURE WITH EXEMPTIONS FROM THE FEMA FLOODPLAN REGULATIONS AND FROM THE FL BLDG CODE'S 50% RULE. This promises to be an engaging topic for residents and visitors alike.  The presentation will end with Q&A.  Enjoy the show!
